We are different because we have time to investigate more deeply when it's needed. We listen, care and support you so that you can be as healthy as possible.
Put simply, we are compassionate, curious, explorative, open-minded and smart about your health care. With you and our team of doctors working together, we can help you understand the big picture and find ways to better your health.
In order to respect each other's time, we ask that you please make all efforts to confirm your appointment with us. If you need to cancel a one hour appointment we ask that you provide 24-hours' notice. If we have not heard from you, we will give you a courtesy call.
In the event of a late cancellation i.e. cancelling on the day of your scheduled appointment or failing to attend, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 100 per cent of the appointment time.
Patients can access their own heath information or have records sent to another doctor, however a signed request/consent is required to release patient health records. An administration fee of $25 will be charged for administration.
All information collected by this practice in providing a health service is deemed to be private and confidential. Patient information is collected for the purpose of providing patient care, health services and safety and is not discussed with or shown to any staff members unless this is required for the reasonable provision of such care.
Patient consent will be obtained, prior to disclosing any patient health information with any other organisations. These organisations may include: pathology services, allied health services, nurses, specialists and/or hospitals.
Whole Medicine may be required under the Privacy Principles 2014, or a court/tribunal order, to collect information.
Whole Medicine requires certain information from you, the patient, to enable us to provide you with an appropriate level of care and health management. If the personal information you provide us is incomplete and/or inaccurate or you choose not to provide us with this information, this may affect our ability to provide you with the necessary level of care and safety.
Your first appointment allows time for your doctor to get to know you and your health concerns. You may be asked about a range of things depending on your history and needs. For example, you may be asked about your diet, stresses, illnesses (past and present), medications, supplements, emotions, spirituality, family, work and environment.
It is our job to give you the building blocks you need to heal, such as the nutrients, motivation, support, knowledge and guidance, but the rest is up to you. Please bring with you all of your recent investigations and any supplements you take. Also, we suggest writing a list of points you would like to discuss at the first appointment so we can work through them together. Depending on the complexities, we will try to address the most important issues first.
Holistic medicine is about uncovering not only your medical condition, but also how your diet, physical lifestyle and emotional wellbeing may be affecting your health. Because to truly be well, we must understand the big picture.
Healing is not just the curing of disease, it is engaging and learning from an illness in all its manifestations.
Holistic medicine also recognises health changes over time, including wisdom and differing beliefs we aim to consider and respect these differences.
We accept the benefits of what modern medicine has given us and integrate that into the age-old wisdom from the past.
Finally, this is a medicine that respects the partnership required between patient and doctor. We hope that we can empower and encourage you to take on that responsibility, in either small steps or large leaps.
Whole Medicine is accepting bookings from new patients. New patients must call to make an appointment on 5986-4229.
A general practice related appointment runs for 30-minute, while a 40-minute consultation can be requested for a longer standing health issue. You can also book a family appointment, which includes 30-minutes for one parent and 15-minutes per child.
Communicating with your doctor without an appointment may be inappropriate in many situations. Please call the reception team on 03 5986 4229 to discuss your needs. If an appointment isn't needed the message will be passed onto the doctor and you will be asked to call back for an response. Unencryted emails are not secure, therefore we do not encourage email correspondence with our GP's.
We try really hard to offer you the best service we can and therefore we take your feedback seriously. You can give us feedback or make a complaint via email, in person, by phone or written correspondence. Please address all feedback to Office Manager. We will endeavour to make contact with you within 48 hours of receiving this feedback.
No our doctors are not naturopaths, they are western medical trained general practitioners. They have completed their medical degrees, in hospital training and specialised in general practice and they all hold a fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General practitioners.
All our appointments are time based. We believe good medicine takes time, and therefore we offer our patients the opportunity to book for extended timed appointments. We also acknowledge that at times, you just want to see a doctor for a short or quick appointment. We have provided for that too. The short appointments are priced in line with what you may be used to at other clinics. The first appointment is designed to allow the doctor and the patient to get to know each other and make sure we are addressing all your health care needs for the short and the long term. For more information see Whole Medicine GP Costs.
We keep some appointments aside for on the day bookings. We try to do our best to accommodate you for this. Please call us in the morning when you need on 5986 4229. These appointments are not always shown online as a way on controlling the booking process as they are sometimes in high demand.
