Dr Dario Rydel
General Practitioner

MBChB, MSc, MRCGP (2022), FRACGP, FHEA

Dr Rydel is a General Practitioner who is passionate about providing modern, evidence-based healthcare in a welcoming and inclusive environment. He believes that the best healthcare is built on trust, continuity and shared decision-making, taking the time to understand what matters most and working together with patients to achieve their health goals.

After beginning his medical career in Manchester, UK, and working in Emergency Medicine, he went on to train as a GP Specialist before relocating to Australia at the start of 2025. His experience across both hospital and community medicine has shaped a calm, practical approach to patient care, with a strong emphasis on prevention and helping patients achieve the best possible long-term health outcomes.

Dr Rydel enjoys caring for patients across all stages of life across the full scope of general practice and has areas of particular clinical interest in:

  • Skin health: including comprehensive skin cancer checks, biopsies and simple excisions, supported by the practice's use of DermEngine for accurate monitoring and assessment.
  • Weight management: including supporting patients with sustainable, evidence-based approaches to improving their weight and metabolic health, including lifestyle interventions and medical therapies where clinically appropriate.
  • Sexual health - including confidential, non-judgemental STI and routine sexual health screening, sexual health advice and prevention with PrEP and DoxyPEP.
  • LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming healthcare: including prescribing and administering gender-affirming hormonal treatment (GAHT including hormonal implants) and ongoing healthcare for TGD individuals. Dr Rydel is a member of AusPATH and committed to creating a welcoming, respectful and affirming environment for all patients.
  • Women's health: including contraception counselling, implanon insertion and removal, menopause/perimenopause management and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
  • Preventive health and chronic disease management - including health checks and partnering with patients to optimise their long-term health and wellbeing through proactive, personalised care.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr Rydel has a longstanding interest in medical education and has held academic and educational roles within various institutions including the Universities of Manchester and Liverpool, as well as the UK's medical regulator. He remains committed to lifelong learning and delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys continuing to learn the piano, spending time outdoors, travelling, and making the most of time with his family, friends and dog Dionne.
